We're a gift shop and I love to create imagery for gift giving - everything I create has some meaning to me, so why not create a design for wine lovers I thought, as I'm certainly a huge fan of wine.
While pondering on the creation of a new illustration yesterday evening and slurping my favourite tipple at the same time I pondered on the magical qualities of wine. Well, it was Wine O'clock after all.
Almost 'healing' as it were in terms of it's ability to de-stress one at the end of a long day and for us creatives, it can be quite the lubricator of our creative thoughts. What did Oscar Wilde say? - "Work is the curse of the drinking classes"
I've always been a massive fan of vintage apothecary bottles and cabinets, though am yet to be the proud owner of one, and so while drinking my precious wine I illustrated this somewhat in the style of a bottle label.
"Wine Potion - for miraculous visions and soul regeneration"
The eye at the bottom is to lend an air of the occult within the design, which is desirable given that it's a potion, and I do love all seeing eye imagery. My favourite popular culture reference to the seeing eye is in 1973 movie; The Golden Voyage of Sinbad in which the slave girl played by Caroline Munro sports one on her palm.
We've produced this design on a coffee coffee mug - I for one shall be supping my wine out of it and it would make a wonderful gift mug too.
As well as this design we stock a wide range of other illustration led (and hand made) gifts and greeting cards, click on the links below for online gift shopping.
